Environmental Endocrinology

Environmental endocrinology encompasses the understanding of how hormone signaling pathways are affected by the physical environmental conditions such as temperature, day length, water salinity and the social environmental conditions or exposure to man-made synthetic chemicals (Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals). Environmental disturbances in the endocrine systems of human body result in ovarian problems, breast cancer, thyroid eruptions, Alzheimer disease, nerve damage, testicular carcinoma, schizophrenia, and obesity. Discussions can also be made in Endocrine physiology, Behavioural endocrinology, Genomic endocrinology and Clinical Endocrinology.
