Biography

Dr. Ghassan Bkaily is currently employed in the position of president at GBBC Medica Inc. which is a biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the research and development of therapeutic approaches for the treatment of sepsis, chronic pain, diabetes, and essential hypertension. The company is based in Sherbrooke, Canada. Ghassan Bkaily is a investigator in Bkaily laboratory. His major contributions towards research on physiopathology of the interaction between the immune system and the cardiovascular system as well as the role of calcium, sodium and cytosolic and nuclear pH in the pathophysiology of the immune, endothelial and cardiovascular systems during fetal development and aging. The research program which includes Physiopathological role of factors released by the endothelial and immune system on the cardiovascular system during fetal development and aging, Physiological role of physical interaction between cardiovascular - endothelial - monocyte - lymphocyte systems, Role of free nuclear calcium in development and cell death, Physiopathological role of R-type calcium channels etc. His main research work on Cardiomyopathy in Bkaily laboratory.
